Toshiba 32C120U Costs Less and Offers More

Toshiba 32C120U Costs Less and Offers More

The Toshiba 32C12OU best buy could be reached at around $300 on Amazon or other online sites. We sincerely hope that you do not expect to receive the very best when you decide to be stingy and save some serious bucks! The Toshiba 32C12OU specs are 32” 720p 60Hz LCD HDTV and its dimensions are 31.2” x19.8” x 3.5” with stand and weighs in at just under 20lbs. Accuracy of colour is probably the Toshiba 32C12OU’s worst attribute so we won’t spend much time trying to cover this up. Design is also poor whilst the remote is a stark reminder of the Dark Ages!  However, when comparing the Toshiba 32C12OU to its 32” rivals, which seems the fairest thing to do, we find that price and picture quality are strong contenders for top place. Black levels are deep and uniform enough and the Toshiba 32C12OU performs well in brightly lit rooms.

Confusing Users Isn’t That Great An Idea

Trying out new and innovative technology is certainly a bright idea when you are aiming to beat the competition but trying to re-design the cartwheel isn’t very clever, especially when you try this on a remote control, which is your highway towards claiming control over your Toshiba 32C12OU. Confounding buttons, which have been modified when compared to international norms and expectations, are like a TREWQ keyboard. With no internet access possible through the Toshiba 32C12OU, the only sign of life at the rear is the lone USB port accompanied by 2 HDMI ports and a PC input, which allows you to play MP3 music files and watch JPEG pictures. To adjust picture settings the Toshiba 32C12OU tv contains presets – Movie, Standard and Preference but changing to anything but Preference causes the set to switch back to this setting. This is frustrating, as well as dangerous as you may well lose all of your settings because of this. If this does happen you will probably need to confide in the User Manual, which can be found here.

True that the Toshiba 32C12OU is 720p but we did not expect it to react with such adversity during video playback. Judder was very evident and disturbing and motion-resolution is a no-go for Toshiba. When tested colour resolution showed weaknesses in Dark Grey x/y, Before Average Colour Temperature, After Average Colour Temperature, Red Luminance Error, Blue Luminance Error, Cyan Hue x/y, 1080p/24 Cadence (IAL), Motion Resolution (max) and Motion Resolution with dejudder disabled.

Decent Picture Quality but Poor Angled Viewing

As the Toshiba 32C12OU uses fluorescent lighting rather than LED back lighting to cut down on production costs and be in a position for the manufacturers to offer you a very good price. With regards to angled viewing, 25-30 degrees will already start to show in a degraded picture quality, whilst 50 degrees upwards will not allow you to define anything other than a blank screen.

Hidden Gems Are There to be Revealed

When going through the Menu you will find some hidden surprises within the Toshiba 32C12OU. Select Preferences and scroll down to the very bottom. You will find energy settings quite obscured from view but present. Click on Enter and set the brightness sensor to disabled. This should make the picture much brighter, as well as help to save on energy consumption. Sound quality is also above-par for a TV of this price range. You really need to make the effort to gel with your Toshiba 32C12OU and you can only this by exploring all its options. And remember, if you get it wrong you have our guide to refer to, so don’t panic...yet!
